Reporting on critical issues today requires knowledge about human rights conventions and social justice campaigns. Black Lives Matter, #MeToo, and the immigration struggles of dreamers are national and local human rights issues that journalists report on. Understanding human rights conventions, language and debates will strengthen journalists reporting on these issues. In this workshop student journalists will learn how to apply human rights standards to stories in their communities.
